Our church tends to segregate, based on chromosomal make-up. In fact, I don't know many other churches who find men's and women's roles to be so separate as ours. Last weekend I went to Women's conference, and out to dinner at Chevy's.
This week it was the men's turn, and I had a little get together here with some ladies and some children.
And I'll tell you what, I wouldn't have it any other way. It's so nice to get to actually HEAR what our leaders have to tell us (sans children). And it's so nice to get together with my ladies while the men have their turn.
It does seem like the world wants to cram men and women into the same little cookie cutter, but we're different. Oh, so different. It's nice to realize that. I'm not saying that we don't share roles, but we see things differently, and that makes me happy.
And quiet also makes me happy, after hosting about 20 kids in our backyard tonight.
I love my friends.
In other news it's our church's General Conference this weekend. I consider it the bi-annual Mormon holiday. The Jews have Yom Kippur (sorry about bad spelling), and we have general conference where we listen to our leaders and indulge in sweet treats. All while in our pajamas. And, for a religion that requires 3 hour/week church attendance, what could be a better holiday? And you know what, on holidays I don't have to follow my diet.
Happy GC everyone. Mormon or not, it's a holiday. :) enjoy and indulge. :)

Sheesh I haven't checked blogs for days.
I'm glad your get together was fun. My girls night out at priesthood session is always just me and the girls. Maybe when we get a bit older we'll invite my girlfriends and their daughters too. We had fun, though.
