I should mention it was on Oprah where I saw them saying that it was cheaper to eat at McD's than at the grocery store. They sent a family of 4 to the grocery store and they just couldn't find ANYTHING for 10 bucks, even on the produce isle.
It was on her food inc show, and they were making the point that you get more calories for your dollar if you eat crap.
Now, if you're planning to eat Fliet Mignon and wine with your dinner, maybe... but I bet you could get some good quality chicken, beef or sometimes even fish for much cheaper than at McD's.
In case you're wondering where that whole idea stemmed from. :)

Are you kidding me? WHERE does this family live that they can't find ANYTHING for $10??? That's just insane. Eating at home is 10 million times healthier, and at least 10 times cheaper when you do it right. I'm glad you posted this!
Do you happen to know the title of the episode, or a link to the story? I'm wanting to see it and rebutt it!
